Euskaltel disappear at E3 Harelbeke

Euskaltel got the worst possible start to their WorldTour Classics campaign on Friday by failing to get a single rider on the results sheet at the E3 Prijs Harelbeke.

While Fabian Cancellara stormed to the win and grabbed all the headlines, the Euskaltel riders quietly flew under the radar. Not one orange-clad rider managed to get to the line, prompting the team's website, usually always so optimistic, to state, ever so dryly, that "the team needs to improve by Sunday for the Gent-Wevelgem".

The same team will line up on Sunday, those being: Juan José Lobato, Garikoitz Bravo, Peio Bilbao, Adrián Sáez, Rubén Pérez, Steffen Radochla, Ioannis Tamouridis and Alexandre Serebryakov.

Check out the results of the race here.

I must say that I was horrified when I saw this, its quite insulting to the organisers, the UCI and the fans that not one rider made it to the finish....it was hardly MSR conditions either, can't imagine what the excuse was.
