García cracks wrist

Ricardo García's crash on the finishing strait of the Dauphiné's third stage has turned out to be more severe than what was initially assumed.

The 24-year-old has, tests in Zorrotzaurre have shown, suffered a small crack in his left wrist, the team's website reports. Upon concluding the stage, it was announced he'd have no problem in lining up at the start the following day, but it now turns out pulling out was probably a wise decision.

The injury is not likely to harm the Vitoria-Gasteiz-native's season all that much. The former Orbea rider, who's had a packed season up until this point, was scheduled to take some time off post-Dauphiné anyway.
