No joy in Plouay

Despite fielding a strong team on paper, Euskaltel failed to be in contention in today's GP Ouest France-Plouay. Well, Pablo Urtasun did manage to infiltrate the break of the day, so thumbs up to him, but besides that it was a bleak afternoon. Koldo, designated leader today, failed to stay with the pack and crossed the line 57 seconds back. So too did Beñat Intxausti. Juanjo Oroz was the only orange-clad rider in the main pack, coming in 35th. Javier Aramendía ended up way back in 30th place at 4:19, while Daniel Sesma and the aforementioned Urtasun ended up 6:24 in arrears. Amets Txurruka, making his return to competitive action following his Tour abandonment, and Alán Pérez, in as a late replacement for Aitor Galdós, both failed to finish the race.
